Welcome to Jenn Gladu's Webpage

This is a webpage created by, and devoted to moi- a.k.a.  Jennifer Ann Gladu. I am a 20 yr. old Junior at American University, majoring in Elementary Education, minoring in Literature (I'm all about being marketable!) At AU, I am a memeber of the Kappa Delta Pi international honor society in education and the Golden Key honor society. I hail from the small New England town of Amherst, Massachusetts. I went to public schools there all my life and when it came time to painstakingly research colleges and universities I knew I was ready to explore some new terrain. I opted for American and DC because Boston (BU,) seemed a little too urban for me, though it would've been closer to home. Although the adjustment to "city" life took some time I've gotten accustomed to being here, and having a Mayor, (former DC Mayor Marion Barry,) to welcome me and my,uh, "dependency," (snort, snort) made things a lot easier! The following webpage was created in honor of some of my favorite things and other stuff I've done in my life which has helped make me who I am today.

Friendies/Family: Some photos of friends and family who are near and dear to my heart. Unfortunately I couldn't throw everyone in here, but you know who you are, photo or not.

Music: A few of my fave CD's- my taste is a bit eclectic if you will, though I try to steer clear of Christian rock, unless I'm at bible study, of course.

Books: Gotta read- that's my motto, especially this semester, while I'm finishing my minor. All of the books listed on this link are definitely worth buying at Borders, reading and then returning, with the claim that the friend you bought it for got the same thing for Christmas.

Where I'm from, (Amherst, MA) Just a little link to an Amherst webpage.

Places I've Worked:
*Starbucks- coffee meets capitalism- what else can I say. I thought I'd lend my Barista expertise to a multi-national corporation which sells such other fine products as the Valentines Day hit, the Date Ball.
*Maret private school. I work at their afterschool program with kindergarten through fourth graders. I'm also the third and fourth grade study hall monitor which means listening to kids rationalize how giving someone your granola bar means you love them.

Passions: Ok. I admit that I am a proud viewer of daytime televisions newest hit, Passions (NBC: 3pmEST). I'd like to take this opportunity to give a shout-out to my fellow Passions fanatics, Ober, Fuzzybutt McGeady, Karen McF, Deanna and Christy.

Finally, I'll leave you with a fine piece of art- as it was Niche who once said "We have art in order not to die of life."(Painting by Gustav Klimt.)
